12th Annual Midtown 5K Run & Walk Benefits Bears Care September 27

Midtown Athletic Club Palatine, 1760 N. Hicks Rd., will present its 12th Annual Midtown 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, September 27, at 8:30 a.m. Entry fees are $35 per adult and $25 for children ages 14-and-under if registering online or via mail by September 20. Entry fees include long sleeve t-shirt and post-race party.

Registration for the Midtown 5K is now being accepted at signmeup.com/97373 through September 21. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the following age categories: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 plus.

The USATF-certified 3.1 mile course starts and finishes at Midtown Athletic Club and winds through the tranquil and scenic Deer Grove East Forest Preserve. Split times will be called for all runners at miles one and two.

All proceeds benefit Bears Care, which is committed to improving the quality of life for people in the Chicagoland community, especially disadvantaged children and their families, through targeted programs supporting education, youth athletics, and medical research and health awareness programs focusing on breast and ovarian cancer.

A Morning of Fun

101.9fm THE MIX will provide pre-race entertainment and Mobile Music Interactive Entertainment, and Get Flipped Chicago will provide post-race entertainment. Food and refreshments will be served compliments of Whole Foods Market Kildeer and Culver's.

Participating 5K sponsors include Advantage Cleaners, Athletico, Chicago Bears Outreach, Culvers, Get Flipped Chicago, Kohl's, Mobile Music Interactive Entertainment, 101.9fm THE MIX, Richard Klein Photography, Solid Line Media, UPS, US Bank, Whole Foods Market Kildeer and Roadrunner Sports.

All non-Midtown member 5K participants will receive a complimentary guest pass to experience all the club has to offer including tennis, aquatics, group fitness, yoga, Pilates and much more.
