Indian Trails Library trustee elected to national board serving libraries

Donald Roalkvam, an Indian Trails Public Library District trustee, has been elected to serve on United for Libraries as a trustee-at-large. Roalkvam, a Buffalo Grove resident, has served on the board of trustees at the Indian Trails Library for 17 years. His term on United for Libraries lasts for three years.

United for Libraries is a national organization dedicated to supporting citizens who govern, promote, advocate and fundraise for all types of libraries. Board members set the strategic direction for the development of services for its members and the growth of the organization. Roalkvam has been involved with this group for 10 years.

"I've enjoyed serving on the board of Indian Trails and am proud to be elected by my peers to the board of United for Libraries," said Roalkvam. "It's important that we support those who volunteer their time to make our libraries stronger and promote the value of libraries in our communities."

In addition to his volunteer work, Roalkvam works as a consultant for Kraft Foods in Northfield, IL. He is married with two sons and four grandchildren.
