Native plant sale:

More than 50 species of native trees and shrubs are available for purchase through the nonprofit organization Conserve Lake County. Order online at www.ConserveLakeCounty.org or schedule an at-home consultation for professional guidance on selections. Orders are being accepted through Sept. 24, and can be picked up Oct. 3 and 4, at Conserve Lake County's offices at Almond Marsh Forest Preserve on Route 120 and Almond Road in Grayslake. Species were selected for their home landscaping qualities and many feature stunning flowers, berries or autumn colors. The sale features young trees and shrubs in a lightweight size that reduces transplant stress and allows the plant to quickly adapt and begin growing. Proceeds support Conservation@Home an eco-friendly lawn and garden program.
