Library Opens Indoor Book Drop Earlier During Construction

The west entrance of the Schaumburg Township District Library (STDL), 130 S. Roselle Rd., will be open at 6 a.m. on weekdays during parking lot construction so people can return books while the outside book drop is closed. On weekends, the doors will open at 8 a.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. on Sundays. The earlier hours will only apply to the hallway in which the indoor book drops are located. The interior doors leading to the lobby will remain closed until the library opens at its regular times.

"We hope this will provide a more convenient drop-off option for patrons during the duration of our parking lot construction and resulting drive-up window closure," said Monica Harris, the library's deputy director.

Phase One of the construction began Aug. 12 on the south side of the building. Work on the north and west sides will take place during Phase Two, with the entire project expected to last approximately three weeks. During that time, library visitors may park in areas that are not closed off, or in the Dominick's parking lot. Handicapped accessible parking spots will be maintained throughout the construction.
