Magee sharp for Mundelein

Sophomore Ryan Magee fired a runner-up 71, as Mundelein's boys golf team got its season off to a strong start Wednesday.

The Mustangs shot a 308 at The Den in Bloomington to finish third behind New Trier (289) and Loyola (300). It was Mundelein's best score in the annual tournament. Magee finished 3 shots behind medalist Nick Iserloth of New Trier.

Mundelein sophomore Tyler White shot a 74 to tie for ninth, while his junior teammate Nick Chuma had a 79 to tie for 28th. Sophomore Brett Parola (84) accounted for Mundelein's fourth score.

Carmel d. Libertyville: At Pine Meadow, junior Riley Ley was medalist with a 37, as the Corsairs (157) won by 11 strokes.

Quaide Delacluyse carded a 38 for Carmel, which also counted Mike Roy's 40 and Brock Ambrose's 42.

Libertyville (168) was led by junior Garrett Feiereisel's 41.
