Lindenhurst boy dies after three-vehicle crash in Wisconsin

A 9-year-old Lindenhurst boy injured last week in a Wisconsin car accident died Tuesday, authorities said.

Ilan Hurtado was a passenger in one of three vehicles involved in the Aug. 15 crash in Beaver Dam, Dodge County sheriff's police said in a news release.

Two other people - including the woman driving the Honda hatchback in which Ilan was riding - also were hurt. The Honda's driver was identified as Judith Haddad, 45, of Lindenhurst.

Haddad was taken to UW Hospital in Madison and was expected to survive, police said.

Haddad's Honda was hit by a semitrailer truck. It was forced into oncoming traffic and collided with a Dodge car, police said.

The driver of the Dodge, a Wisconsin woman, was taken to a hospital. She also was expected to survive.

The driver of the semitrailer, a 67-year-old Fox Lake man, wasn't hurt.

The sheriff's office didn't say if charges have been filed. Dodge County police are investigating.
