Midwest CareCenter in Glenview offering grief support

Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter grief support groups, workshops and events provide a non-judgmental confidential outlet for adults and youth in the North Shore, Lake County and beyond who are grieving the loss of a loved one, whether by illness or trauma. Groups meet for eight weeks and are offered at no charge to the public. Registration is required and ends four business days before the start date of each group. To register, call (847) 556-1777. If you leave a message, the group leader will contact you prior to the start of your group.

• Adult Loss meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays, starting Oct. 13, at the Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Another group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, starting Oct. 15 at Midwest CareCenter in Glenview, 2050 Claire Court.

• Spouse Loss meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 15 at Midwest CareCenter, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview.

• "Navigating Grief," a one-time, 90 minute educational group, will be offered from 1 to 2:30 p.m. July 15or from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 13 at Midwest CareCenter, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview.

• Drop-in grief support for adults is offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the first and third Fridays of each month at Midwest CareCenter, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview. These sessions are open to any adult whose loss occurred between three and 24 months prior to participation. Registration is not required. All Midwest CareCenter grief support services are free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.
