Ceremony Attempts To Break Couples Record At Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel Romantic Outdoor Setting

SCHAUMBURG - A Schaumburg jeweler and nearby upscale hotel are coupling to conduct a mass renewal of wedding vows ceremony on Friday, August 22 in hopes of setting a record for the most couples participating at one time in such a reknotting.

Couples from throughout the Chicago area, Indiana, and Wisconsin already are pre-registered for "Love at the Renaissance, A Wedding Vow Renewal Ceremony," a combined effort by Wyatt Austin Jewelers and Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, 1551 Thoreau Dr.

They are preparing a memorable ceremony at the hotel's elegant outdoor grounds featuring water fountains, lush greenery, and natural prairie background. Participation is free.

"The wedding vow is a sacred commitment between two people in love," said Candice Milstein, owner of Wyatt Austin Jewelers, 1701 E. Woodfield Road #110, Schaumburg.

"We are celebrating the strength of that pledge by having couples rededicate themselves to their partner. At the same time, we intend to surpass the Guinness World Records 1,087 couples record."

The official schedule:

• 3:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. - Registration

• 5:00 p.m. - Pre-ceremony lining up

• 6:00 p.m. - Opening remarks

• 6:15 p.m. - Ceremony, officiated by Allen Gabe, ordained officiate

• 7:00 p.m. - Entertainment and prize drawings

Couples will be free to celebrate and enjoy the rest of their evening at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, which is offering participating couples a special event room package of $99 to include sophisticated king bed accommodations boasting spectacular views of the western sunset and the prairie wetlands that surround. Also included is a special celebratory treat of bubbles and sweet. The hotel will also be offering specials in Gather, The Terrace and Sam & Harry's with lively local talent to make the night sparkle with merriment.

As well, one couple will win a his and hers wedding ring set, total package valued at $3,500, from Wyatt Austin Jewelers, and a free night at the hotel.

"The Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel provides an extraordinary romantic backdrop and atmosphere for married couples to enjoy such an important moment in their relationship," said Milstein. Milstein, a Graduate Gemologist GIA), is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Wyatt Austin Jewelers owned and operated by her and her late husband, Jeff Milstein. The Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, located at the intersection of Thoreau Drive and Meacham Road just north of the Jane Addams Tollway, offers 48,000 square feet of event space dripping in Swarovski crystal chandeliers and natural light.
