Historical Libertyville photos on display

The last "Made in Libertyville" historical photo exhibit of the season will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at St. Lawrence Church, 125 West Church St., Libertyville. Visitors can get a look at some of the manufacturing companies that have called Libertyville home in this display sponsored by the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society, Dan Timm/Century21, and St. Lawrence Episcopal Church. In the late 1890s, Libertyville was looking to attract manufacturers to the town, and its boosterism worked. By 1898, the Earl Ladder Co. had moved in to one of the factories and Libertyville became a site of great interest for manufacturers during the years to come.
