"The Farm: Images from the Heartland" art exhibition opens Sunday, Aug. 24, with a public artist's reception from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Lake County Discovery Museum, at the Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda. Fifty pieces were selected from 87 submitted for this juried show, which runs through Nov. 4. Prizes will be awarded for photography and two-dimensional media, as well as a grand prize and special prize for best Lake County image. Entries were judged by professional photographer Shannon Ramsdale of Barrington, and Georgia Cawley. former art teacher and director of the Long Grove Art Guild.
