3 home runs power Cougars to win

Three home runs helped Kane County to a 7-2 victory at Fox Cities Stadium over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, giving the Cougars a five-game winning streak.

With the victory, the Cougars (33-20, 78-45) reached 32 games over .500 on the season. Wisconsin fell to 29-24 and 65-57 overall.

The first two Cougar home runs came were solo shots in the second inning from Jacob Rogers and Cael Brockmeyer. In the fourth, Trey Martin added an inside-the-park home run ins as many days.

Jonathan Martinez pushed his record to 9-5 and allowed two runs through five innings.
