Chicago police: Missing boater found dead in lake

Chicago authorities say a body recovered from Lake Michigan has been identified as a man who was missing after falling overboard from a disabled sailboat.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said Thursday that a boater found the body of 56-year-old Daniel Brown on Wednesday in the lake near Diversey Harbor. Brown had been missing since Saturday.

The medical examiner's office says an autopsy Thursday was inconclusive pending further investigation.

The Coast Guard suspended its search for Brown on Sunday. It said five other people aboard the vessel named "Three's Company" saw Brown resurface once. They lost sight of him while trying to throw him a floatation device about a mile offshore.

Brown wasn't wearing a life jacket.
