Island Lake trustee resigns
Island Lake Trustee Shannon Fox has resigned from the village board, citing a recent move out of town. Fox was in her first term, having been elected in 2011. A resignation letter, dated Aug. 12, arrived Friday. The village board will appoint someone to finish Fox's term. Fox found herself in the political minority in Island Lake after the 2013 election and was a regular target of Mayor Charles Amrich's supporters. Fox was formally censured by the board in October 2013 for comments she made in an email to Lake County officials about a local business owner.
