Help support arts at Norris Center auction Aug. 15 in St. Charles

Arts supporters may find an outlet for their generosity - and a source of new works for their collections - by participating in the Friday, Aug. 15, fundraising auction at the Norris Cultural Arts Center in St. Charles.

Culminating its summer-long exhibit, "The Wine of Life," by St. Charles artist Nick Freeman, The Norris Center will conduct a combined silent and live auction of artworks from the Freeman exhibit and its own collection, as well as a variety of items donated from the community.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, which includes appetizers, desserts, beverages, live music and plenty of opportunities to browse and bid on silent auction items. Renowned local auctioneer John Prigge will preside over the live auction at 7 p.m. Admission is $40 and $75 per couple.

Tickets for the event are available online at NorrisCulturalArts.com and at the Norris box office, either in person or by phone at (630) 584-7200. The Norris Cultural Arts Center is located at 1040 Dunham Road, St. Charles.

The Freeman exhibit, including more than 50 paintings and 25 digital photos by the artist, continues at the gallery through Aug. 30.

Admission to the exhibit is free during the gallery's regular hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday though Saturday.
