Hanover Park man charged with sexually assaulting juvenile

A 26-year-old Hanover Park man has been charged with sexually assaulting a juvenile Aug. 7, Hanover Park police said Thursday afternoon.

Mario Mendoza was charged with a felony count of predatory criminal sexual assault, according to a police news release.

Police said they believe the juvenile was assaulted at Mendoza's residence on the 2300 block of Glendale Terrace on Aug. 7. On Aug. 11, the juvenile went or was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where police were notified.

On Aug. 13, police located Mendoza.

Police are not revealing the juvenile's age or gender.

Bond was set for Mendoza at $500,000. He must post 10 percent to be released from jail.
