Naper Settlement, DuPage Children's Museum team for day of play

Double your fun when Naper Settlement and DuPage Children's Museum team up to present Naperville Plays!, a timeless day of play for all ages.

Activities run from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St., Naperville, and coincide with the Settlement Sunday events that include free ice cream sundaes.

During Naperville Plays! visitors can discover the wonder of play and innovation in a historical setting. Activities include:

• Games through the ages (vintage games station);

• Hula hoop station, along with hoops and sticks;

• Cookie walk;

• Musical performance by children's recording artist Joel Frankel from 2:30 to 3 p.m.;

• "Pop-up" exhibit featuring community members' vintage toy and memorabilia collections;

• Storytelling;

• Hobby horse obstacle course;

• Croquet at the Martin Mitchell Mansion;

• Relay races;

• Firehouse station, bucket brigade, and Joe Naper Pumper demonstration;

• Vintage photo booth;

• Quilt Make-It-and-Take-It station;

• Naperville Public Library craft station; and

• Free ice cream sundae for Settlement Sundays.

Admission is $12 adults, $11 seniors 62 and older, $8 ages 4 to 12, and free for younger children, Naperville residents, Naperville Settlement members, and DuPage Children's Museum members.
