Are your kids begging for a pet, but you don't think they are ready? Try getting them a virtual pet in the meantime. Below are three iPad apps that will teach your children about the responsibilities of pet care.

Your child chooses from four adorable puppies that need someone to feed, clean and care for them. The job of being a “doggie sitter” even includes the task most kids leave for mom or dad to do – picking up the puppy's poop.
