Townships, Motorola team for job fair Sept. 9

Motorola Solutions and Schaumburg and Palatine townships are partnering to sponsor a job fair next month for seniors, persons with disabilities and veterans.

The job fair will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Schaumburg Township, 1 Illinois Blvd., in Hoffman Estates.

Motorola and other companies are seeking potential employees with a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) background. There also will be other employers hiring for positions other than the technical field.

Jobseekers should bring plenty of current resumes and dress in business attire.

Valerie Profit, employment counselor for Schaumburg Township, is available to assist jobseekers age 50 and older or people with disabilities find employment opportunities. She also facilitates the Job Club that meets at 1 p.m. Aug. 26 and Oct. 28 at Schaumburg Township. For more information, contact her at (847) 884-0030, ext. 2016.
