Chicago lawyer sent to prison for sexual assault

A real estate attorney has been handed a six-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a Minnesota woman at a Chicago hotel.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports Anthony Bergamino said his judgment has failed at times and apologized before Cook County Circuit Judge Thomas Gainer sentenced him Thursday.

Bergamino was accused of attacking the woman in August 2012. She was in Chicago to attend a conference and the Lollapalooza music festival.

The victim testified the 51-year-old Bergamino barged into her room and attacked her.

Bergamino testified he met the victim hours earlier and she gave him her hotel room number. He admitted to kissing and touching the woman, but denied fondling her.

Defense attorney Jeffrey Urdangen argued there was no "physical harm" as a result of the assault.
