Elgin

• Gavin L. Washington, 32, of the 100 block of North Gifford Street, Elgin, was charged Wednesday with four counts of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance containing cocaine, according to court records. He is accused of delivering between 1 gram and 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine on July 25 and July 27 while within 1,000 feet of Elgin Evangelical Free Church, 1900 Big Timber Road. His bail was set at $150,000 in Kane County bond court, and his next court date is Aug. 15.

• Shadontre Q. Smith, 21, of the 1200 block of Sandhurst Lane, Elgin, was charged Thursday with criminal damage to government property, resisting or obstructing a police officer and obstructing identification, according to court records. He is accused of damaging an Elgin Police Department squad car. After causing the damage, which was less than $500, he ran from a police officer. Smith then gave false names to the officers once they detained him. His bail was set at $20,000 in Kane County bond court, and his next court date is Aug. 15.

• Enrique Ledesma, 36, of the 1900 block of N. Orleans Street, McHenry, was charged Wednesday with driving under the influence, according to court records. He is accused of driving on Route 31 in West Dundee while under the influence of alcohol. At the time, his driving privileges were already suspended for driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was set at $25,000 in Kane County bond court, and his next court date is Aug. 15.
