Fire causes $150,000 damage to Wheaton house

Firefighters are still probing the cause of a Wednesday night blaze that caused roughly $150,000 damage to a two-story house on the 1400 block of Avery Avenue in Wheaton.

No injuries were reported, but officials said the house is uninhabitable.

Firefighters said they responded about 9 p.m. and found the fire on both floors of the home. They said they brought the blaze under control in about 15 minutes.

Investigators from the DuPage County Arson Task Force could not immediately determine the cause of the fire but said it does not appear to be suspicious.
