Police: Illinois men charged with gunrunning
Illinois State Police say two men from suburban Chicago have been charged with gunrunning.
The State Police announced in a news release Tuesday that they arrested 42-year-old Thomas J. Burke and 72-year-old Daryl J. Mrkvicka on Friday after serving warrants at their homes. Both men live in Tinley Park.
According to the release, 36 illegal guns and ammunition were found in Mrkvicka's home.
He is charged with gunrunning and unlawful sale of firearms. Burke is charged with conspiracy to commit gunrunning and conspiracy to commit unlawful sales of firearms.
According to Will County court records, neither has entered a plea. Jail records show both have been released on bond.
A message left by The Associated Press on a phone listed for Mrkvicka was not returned. Burke could not be located.
