Tutors, mentors, drivers sought:

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program sponsored by Community Action Partnership is looking for volunteers to provide one-on-one assistance to children 3 to 5 years old in literacy, math, reading and social/emotional development for at least two hours one or two days a week during the 2014-15 school year. Tutors and mentors also are being sought for disadvantaged elementary school students. Drivers for escorted service to medical appointments and food delivery to homebound seniors also are needed. Potential volunteers should have excellent customer service and communication skills. Willing volunteers are screened, interviewed, trained and agree to a background check before beginning service.
