Boomers fall 11-3 at Joliet

The Schaumburg Boomers dropped an 11-3 contest to the Slammers on Sunday in Joliet.

Joliet scored twice in the second inning. The Boomers' Alexi Colon tied the score with solo home runs in the third and fifth innings. Colon became the second player this season to hit more than 1 homer in a game.

Joliet broke open the game with 5 runs in the fifth and added 4 more in the seventh.

Schaumburg was limited to 7 hits, 3 from Colon. Ty Nelson reached base three times. Cal Bowling worked only 4⅔ innings and took the loss.

Schaumburg (40-28) concludes the road trip Monday at 7:05 p.m. LHP Danny Jimenez (6-3, 3.95) will start for the Boomers against Joliet RHP Alex Kaminsky (2-5, 4.97).
