An Elgin woman and a River Grove man face felony drug charges after Elgin police served a warrant on a residence in the 1-100 block of South Crystal Street about 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Members of the Special Investigations Division executed the warrant in response to an investigation which was initiated after receiving information regarding drug sales at the location, police said in a news release.

Detectives recovered approximately 50 grams of heroin, items indicative of drug sales, and more than $6000 in cash, the release said.

Deborah M. Stevens, 58, who lives at the residence, was charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Keith W. Delawder, 34, of the 8000 block of River Grove Avenue in River Grove, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Delawder appeared in Kane County court today where his bail was set at $50,000. He needs to post 10 percent to be released. Stevens will appear in court Sunday, Aug. 3.
