Master Gardeners offer peek at Idea Garden Aug. 5

As your garden grows this summer, are you thinking about new designs or looking to explore new plant varieties? Inspiration is close to home in the Kane County Master Gardeners' Idea Garden, which is open to the public from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

The 2014 Idea Garden features unique combinations of flowers, herbs and vegetables in eight creative, yet functional, projects that are designed to replicate easily at home.

"This year's gardens are planted with themes, including cocktail, marinara, 'three sisters' and fantastic foliage," said Sarah Fellerer, Program Coordinator for University of Illinois Extension. "If you've visited us before, stop back in to see how the gardens change as the season progresses."

The garden is located at the corner of Peck Road and Route 38 in St. Charles. Visitors can enter via the Route 38 driveway.
