Palatine man pleads not guilty to allegations of indecent solicitation of child

A Palatine man pleaded not guilty in Lake County court Thursday to charges he solicited sex from an undercover Lake County sheriff's detective posing as a 14-year-old boy, authorities said.

Ivan V. Dimitrov, 26, of the 0-100 block of West King Henry Court, was charged in July with three counts of indecent solicitation of a child.

Dimitrov posted an advertisement online seeking a companion, authorities said, and he began communicating with a detective posing as a 14-year-old boy.

Dimitrov was arrested after arranging a meeting at a park near Grayslake, police said.

He was also charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said. Police found a small amount of marijuana and a pipe when he was arrested, authorities said.

Dimitrov's bail remains set at $100,000, of which he must post 10 percent to be released.

He is next scheduled to appear in court Aug. 14 for a case management conference.
