Show off your talents at the Schaumburg Park District

Juggling, singing, dancing and acrobatics are just a few of the acts that will be available at the annual Schaumburg's Got Talent competition at 7 p.m., Aug. 8 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road.

Participants may perform competitively or non-competitively. All competitive acts will be judged. There will be a mandatory rehearsal on Aug. 7. Judges will take the highest scores from each age group and participants will go on to compete through web voting. Contestants advance according to the highest combined judge and community votes. Prizes will be awarded to the winner.

Individuals or group acts must register for auditions. Contestants will be contacted regarding audition times. Talent categories include singing, music, dancing, magic, juggling, acrobatics, comedy and acting.

"It's so exciting to see the different types of talent that come out! We've seen everything from comedy to singing to juggling," said Cultural Arts Supervisor Beth Waller. "This is a great competition that places participants against people their own age and really lets them show off for their families, friends and the community."

Tickets for the talent show will be available for purchase Aug. 1 at the Community Recreation Center's north registration counter. Ticket cost is $3.
