7th annual Fox Lake Venetian Night set for Saturday

People are urged to join their neighbors at the village of Fox Lake's 7th annual Venetian Night and Block Party Saturday, Aug. 2, on Pistakee Lake.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. and end at midnight. The lighted Venetian-style boat parade begins at 7:30 p.m. with a theme of "Christmas on the Chain."

Cash prizes will be awarded for creativity, costumes, decorations and lighting on the boat parade entries. The first-place winner will take home $500, second place will win $300, while third will take home $200.

The boat parade route will launch at Famous Freddie's Roadhouse, 510 Park Ave., and drive past Dockers Restaurant, 33 West Grand Ave.

Entry forms for the boat parade are available at foxlake.org.

A fireworks finale will take place about 9:30 p.m. over the water. The block party will feature food, drinks, and dancing in the street, as well as many other attractions.
