A Palatine man injured after being punched in the head outside a bar Friday, July 18, has died from his injuries. Witnesses say after being punched, Ryan Flannigan, 26, hit his head on the sidewalk. He died yesterday afternoon at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Full story.

Charity covers funeral for Barrington infant who starved to death

The charity Rest in His Arms will pay for a the funeral of a 7-month-old Barrington infant who police say starved to death as a result of mistreatment from her parents. Rolling Meadows trees cut down despite neighbors' protests

Rolling Meadows city officials say a landowner who cut down old-growth trees from his property in a northwest side neighborhood was within his rights, despite the protests of his neighbors. A judge Monday ordered a man who authorities say escaped custody of the Elgin Mental Health Center and led police on an eight-hour manhunt earlier this month to undergo a fitness test next week. Jesse Vega, 33, jumped out of a stopped vehicle just before 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 16. Full story.

Once an extra in "My Best Friend's Wedding" while attending Warrenville South High School, Karen Teune graduated into a full-blown film career.
