Peggy Kinnane to visit namesake Arlington Hts. restaurant Wednesday

Peggy Kinnane, namesake of the Arlington Heights restaurant and pub, will be visiting from Ireland for a special event on Wednesday night.

Kinnane is owner Derek Hanley's mother and at 75, she's making a visit to the restaurant that bears her name.

The event will include food and drink specials and run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Peggy Kinnane's, 8 N. Vail Ave., Arlington Heights. The first 200 customers will receive a shirt that says “I had a pint with Peggy,” Hadley said.

People can also pose for photos with Kinnane and make donations to a hospice in Ireland.

“We're just trying to have a bit of fun. My mother is a very quiet woman, but so many people have asked me about her over the years,” he said. “She's a lovely woman and God knows when she will be over here again.”
