Program discusses PTSD and the Holocaust

"Surviving the Holocaust and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder" will be the topic of a 4½-hour program Sunday, Aug. 3, at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center.

Featured speakers are Howard Reich, Chicago Tribune music critic and author of "Prisoner of Her Past," which speaks of his mother's diagnosis of delayed-onset post-traumatic stress disorder. Yonit Hoffman, program director of Holocaust Community Services at Jewish Child and Family Services, will follow.

The program from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. is at the museum, 9603 Woods Drive in Skokie. It is hosted by Bay Shul Orthodox synagogue in Buffalo Grove.

Admission is $50 per person; $36 for students with ID. Admission includes a museum tour, buffet lunch and speakers' forum.
