Addison woman shot during Indiana robbery attempt

HAMMOND, Ind. - Police say a mother and her two daughters were shot during an attempted robbery in Hammond.

Hammond Police Lt. Rich Hoyda says two men tried to rob a 41-year-old woman Sunday morning while she was in the car with her daughters, ages 15 and 12. The mother, who is from Addison, tried to flee and one of the men fired, striking all three in the car. The men then fled and the mother was able to call for help, the Post-Tribune reported.

Hoyda tells the newspaper the girls were hospitalized in critical condition and the mother was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
