District 54 appoints Aldrin assistant principal

The District 54 School Board appointed the new assistant principal at Aldrin Elementary School in Schaumburg, during its board meeting on Thursday, July 17.

Tracy Griffin Langlais will become the new assistant principal at Aldrin, replacing Brian Kaszewicz who was named the principal of Hale Elementary School last month. She thanked the Board and superintendent for the opportunity; the staff at Aldrin and at Muir, as well as her family and friends.

"School District 54 is such a special place to me," Tracy said. "I'm excited to be able to embark as a leader within this community."

Tracy has been a teacher at John Muir Literacy Academy in Hoffman Estates since 2011. Previously she worked for four years at Bronzeville Lighthouse Charter School in Chicago and for two years as a Teach for America Corps Member.

She has a bachelor's degree in public administration from Ohio University, a master's degree in teaching from Dominican University, and her administrative certificate from National-Louis University.
