Buffalo Grove moves Night Out back to Willow Stream Park

Buffalo Grove is moving its annual National Night Out back to Willow Stream Park this year, scrapping earlier plans to hold the Aug. 5 event at Mike Rylko Community Park.

The Night Out will feature free food, live music, a business expo, games and attractions for children, and interactive displays by the Buffalo Grove Police and Fire departments. It typically draws between 3,000 and 4,000 people.

Buffalo Grove Park District officials earlier this year decided to move the event to Mike Rylko after it appeared construction at Willow Stream would make the park unusable. However, construction delays mean the park will be available for the event, officials said in a news release Wednesday.

"We realize that there will be some confusion; however, we decided that since Willow Stream Park is the ideal venue for what is our largest event of the year, that it really was the best decision to move the event back there if we are able to do so," said Mike Terson, the park district's public relations and marketing manager.
