Mundelein Explorers finish 3rd in national competition

The Mundelein Police Explorer Post #184 recently earned third place for their performance at the 2014 National Law Enforcement Exploring Conference in Bloomington, Indiana.

The team won in the "Burglary in Progress" event, and was the only unit from Illinois to place in any of the team events.

More than 2,000 young people from 108 Explorer posts across the country participated in the conference.

Explorer Post #184 is made up of youth between the ages of 14-21, who are interested in a career in law enforcement. Two Mundelein police officers serve as advisors to teach participants about the profession.

The Explorers will be recognized for their exceptional achievement at the village board meeting Monday, July 28.
