HandsOn Suburban Chicago seeks volunteer tutors

HandsOn Suburban Chicago, a nonprofit 501(c)3 agency based in Arlington Heights, will continue after-school tutoring programs in Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 and Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 for the 2014-2015 school year.

The objective of the agency's After School Program is to provide homework help and support to high-need students in the Northwest suburbs, as well as provide their parents with resources and engagement opportunities to become more involved in the program and school in general.

HandsOn Suburban Chicago is seeking volunteers to serve as tutors during the after school programs at Cooper Middle School in Buffalo Grove, London and Holmes Middle Schools in Wheeling and Grove Junior High School in Elk Grove Village. Training and orientation is provided.

HandsOn Suburban Chicago's mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people to volunteer and take action that builds vibrant and prosperous communities. HOSC recruits and refers 10,000 volunteers annually to more than 200 nonprofit groups and schools, and provides support to local charitable organizations via consultations and trainings.
