The Naperville Municipal Band will perform at the prestigious Texas Bandmasters Association convention next July in San Antonio, Texas, band officials said Tuesday.

The band was invited by Bruce Beach, president-elect of the Texas Bandmasters Association, who was a guest conductor, along with his wife, Alma, at the July 17 Naperville Municipal Band concert.

"This is quite an honor for the band and the city of Naperville," said Ron Keller, director of the Naperville Municipal Band.

The Texas Bandmasters Association sponsors the largest annual state bandmasters association convention in the country with more than 6,500 people in attendance, including 2,400 band directors and more than 600 industry-related exhibit booths.
