Free Play in the Park Day in Palatine

Palatine Park District presents a free Play in the Park Day on Thursday, July 24 at Hamilton Reservoir, 1037 N. Smith Street, Palatine.

Play in the Park Day will begin with a free tots story time offered by the Palatine Public Library from 10:00am to 10:30am. From 10:30am to 12:00pm, Palatine Park District will offer a variety of free outdoor games and activities for children of all ages. The event will include a free raffle and Sammy the Squirrel, the new Palatine Park District mascot, will be making an appearance as well.

Play in the Park Day is a free event offered by Palatine Park District as part of the National Recreation and Park Association's "Out is In" campaign. Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation's official Park and Recreation Month. This year NRPA is focusing on setting trends instead of following them, making 2014 the year people go outside, change their outlook, and get involved in their community through parks and recreation.
