Geneva fire plans golf outing

The sixth annual National Fall Firefighters Foundation Golf Outing will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Bliss Creek Golf Club, 1 Golf View Drive, Sugar Grove. Online registration at golf.firehero.org.

The cost of this event is $100. Price includes 18 holes of golf, riding cart, lunch and steak dinner. Raffles will be held. Hole sponsorship is $350. Dinner only is $30. Registration begins at noon with the shotgun start at 1 p.m. Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The event is being hosted by Geneva Fire Department. For more on the Bliss Creek Golf Club, visit Blisscreekgolf.com. In 2004, the first National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament was held to raise awareness and to help sustain the programs of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The foundation was created by the U.S. Congress to lead a nationwide effort to remember America's fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the nonprofit foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor fallen fire heroes and assist their families and co-workers.
