Off-duty Chicago Police officer killed in crash
An off-duty Chicago police officer has been killed in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the city's South Side.
According to Chicago police, Tito M. Rodriguez was killed in the crash Sunday afternoon. He'd been an officer with the department since May 2013.
State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond says that the investigation into the crash is ongoing but it appears the officer was riding his motorcycle when he was struck by another vehicle at about 2:15 p.m. She says he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bond says she does not have any further details about the circumstances of the crash.
