Island Lake Boat Tours Launched

ISLAND LAKE BOAT TOURS LAUNCHED

The Lake Management Committee of the Village of Island Lake, in conjunction with the Historical Society of Island Lake, are offering guided pontoon boat tours of Island Lake.

The official launch of the program on Sunday, June 22, 2014, was preceded by a toast to the success of the program by guests of the Village and volunteer boat owner, Linda Wolff.

The tours, which last about an hour, will reveal interesting facts about the lake, the history of Island Lake, and information about the wildlife and ecology of the area. The tours will offer residents and visitors to the town a boat ride around one of the most scenic lakes in the area.

Tours dates are scheduled occasionally during the season on weekday evenings, and weekend afternoons. Reservations are required since seating is limited and can be made by contacting Liz Nelson at 847-609-9050 or e-mail at lizznelson
