Wisconsin police search for man who abandoned bagged puppy

Associated Press

OSHKOSH, Wis. - Oshkosh police are searching for a man seen leaving a puppy behind a truck stop trash bin.

The two-week old puppy was found July 10 in a black plastic bag at the Planeview Truck Stop. Police say a man is seen in surveillance video walking behind the trash bin with a dark object and leaving empty-handed.

The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is caring for the puppy named Hazel. She has a spinal injury and will need surgery for a broken pelvis.

The humane society medical coordinator tells WBAY-TV Hazel has "a lot of spunk" but can't move around on her own.
