Mount Prospect bicyclist hit by truck

A 52-year-old Mount Prospect woman was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries Friday after being struck by a truck while riding her bicycle at the corner of Northwest Highway and Main Street in Mount Prospect.

Mount Prospect Police Officer Greg Sill said the truck driver — a 44-year-old man from DeKalb — was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Police and paramedics received the call to the scene at 9:22 a.m. Friday. The woman was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
