Family Fun Fest to celebrate new hospital in Huntley

Centegra Health System will welcome the community to a special event Saturday, July 12, to celebrate the construction of Centegra Hospital-Huntley. A Family Health Fest, beam raising and open swim activities will commemorate this exciting time in the community's history. Parking for the event will be at Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Road in Lake in the Hills, and community members will be bused to Centegra Health Campus-Huntley.

The Family Fun Fest will kick off the event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12. Activities will include a Teddy Bear Clinic, a free bike helmet and fitting for the first 300 children, younger than 16, to attend, live music, an obstacle course, an opportunity to play "Bags to the Bones" with McHenry County Orthopedics and health screenings including a blood sugar level check and blood pressure screening.

The Kid-Friendly Construction Zone will welcome community members to make their own mark on history by signing a construction beam. The signed beam will be raised at 11 a.m. as the community watches. Free hard hats will be available for commemorative family photos and there will be a rock-climbing wall.

The event will include one backpack for every family that attends, snacks and refreshments and an open swim session at the Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley outdoor pool from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Community members are asked to bring their own towels to the open swim session.

Registration is required for the Centegra Family Health Fest and Beam-Raising Event. Visit centegra.org/beam or go to the Family Health Fest tab on Centegra's Facebook page.
