Schultz Joins Psychology Faculty at Wheaton College

Dr. Tammy Schultz recently joined the Wheaton College psychology faculty as Professor of Counseling Psychology.

Schultz is a graduate of The University of Winnipeg, where she earned a B.A. in Criminology and Sociology. She also completed an M.A. in Biblical Counseling at Providence Seminary, as well as an M.A. in Counseling from University of North Dakota. She earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology at Indiana State University.

Schultz previously served as Professor of Counseling at Grace College, and as Adjunct Professor at Providence Seminary. She also has clinical experience as a counselor in private practice. She has been a legislative chair for the Indiana Counseling Association.

Schultz researches the clinical outcomes of a biblically based group intervention for trauma survivors. Much of her work takes place in Central Asia, Central America, the United States and Canada, where she teaches about healing from sexual abuse.

"I hold a special affinity for helping survivors of abuse learn to speak about their suffering before they begin to sing the song of hope," Schultz says.

"Dr. Schultz has a huge professional profile, and is very explicitly Christian in her work," says Wheaton College Provost Dr. Stanton Jones. "Both of these qualities make her an incredible addition to the psychology faculty at Wheaton."
