Man shot in Round Lake Heights

Round Lake Heights police are investigating a shooting early Saturday in which a 31-year-old Round Lake man was shot in the abdomen.

Police were called a 3:39 a.m. to the 900 block of Rollins Road found the man with a single gunshot wound. He underwent surgery at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. but the injury was not life-threatening, according to police Chief John R. Roehlk.

Witnesses told police six shots had been fired from the roadway on North Brentwood Drive toward Richard's Sports Bar, he said. No other injuries were reported, and no charges have been lodged in connection with the shooting. Roehlk said the victim was a bar patron who was leaving as it was closing time.

"We don't believe it as random," he added.
