Geneva seeks public's help on Swedish Day parade burglary

While the South Shore Drill Team of Chicago was waiting to perform in the Swedish Day parade June 22 in Geneva, someone had the temerity to steal stuff off the team's bus.

Geneva police announced the burglary this week, asking for the public's help finding the burglar.

Someone stole four purses and bags, containing an iPad, clothing and money.

The bus was parked in the south lot of the Metra train station on South Third Street, the terminus of the annual parade. The bus was left unattended and unlocked.

The burglary happened between 12:40 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. The bus had delivered the performers to the parade's starting point on Anderson Boulevard.

The bags and purses were discarded nearby.

People who saw the burglary, or suspicious activity at that time, are asked to call Sgt. Michael Frieders at (630) 232-4736.
