Shedd, Openlands team for Great Lakes Action Days
Openlands is partnering with the Shedd Aquarium for the Great Lakes Action Days program, to protect and conserve the Great Lakes.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 11 at Openlands Lakeshore Preserve in Highland Park. The preserve features carefully restored ecosystems that allow visitors to experience the beauty of rare ravine and bluff ecosystems.
Volunteers will help remove invasive vegetation, plant native grasses and wildflowers, and collect important data about lakeshore conditions through a variety of citizen-science projects.
