The U15 Northwest Crushers tournament baseball team won the Redbird Classic Tournament Championship at Illinois State University on Sunday June 22.

The Crushers led the entire championship game and closed with a 5-0 victory just before the rain came.

The Crushers, who are a tournament team with players from Barrington, Palatine and Streamwood high schools, advanced in the tournament winning three out of four games and only allowing six runs in all five tournament games, while scoring 45 total runs.

The Crushers were led by outstanding pitching performances from Blake Gosswein, Jack Grochowski, Nick Bart, Will Yorton and Jose Aguilar. Solid hitting performances by John Weber, Jeff Korus, Justin Walker and JT Streepy also helped the team advance. The Crushers had excellent defensive performances from Ryan Dowd, Sean Davis and Brooks Gosswein.
